Why do I get the error: “Namespace or type specified in the Imports …” when compiling the Visual Basic .NET sample?

This can happen when using any Auron Software product API.

For the SMS Component the full error text is: “Namespace or type specified in the Imports ‘AxSms’ doesn’t contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member.”

But for any Auron Software product this has to do with the installation of the API .dlls.

To solve this please reinstall (repair) your installation by running the original setup again.
