Campaigns / Bulk messaging
Use campaigns to send bulk SMS or email from any data source.
A campaign is a preset for bulk messaging. You can use the Bulk wizard to start an ad hoc mailing. Read on to learn more about setting up and using campaigns.
A campaign can use the following data sources:
- MS Excel
- MS Access
- CSV files
- MS SQL Server or MySQL database
- Any ODBC enabled database
- LDAP or an LDAP enabled Active Directory database
Once connected to the data source, the campaign can use any field as part of the customized messages it generates.

Creating a new campaign
First specify an ID and a description for the campaign. You need the campaign ID if you want to run the campaign from a trigger or from a script outside Auron Omni.
Next you need to specify the channel the campaign runs on. The channel can be an SMS or an email channel.
The next wizard pages guide you through selecting a data source for your campaign.
Specify a filter to select which records to use for your campaign.
Creating a customized message
After setting up your data source you can define a custom message template based on the fields in your data source.
In the final step the wizard shows a preview of the messages based on the current data from the data source.
Running a campaign from the manager
You can run a campaign from the manager by clicking the green Play icon next to the campaign description. This runs the campaign in interactive mode. The campaign wizard opens and shows a preview of the messages that will be sent.
Click Next and then Yes to start sending messages.
The final screen shows the result of creating the campaign messages.
Batch ID corresponds to the BatchID field in the message table. This lets you filter all messages belonging to a specific campaign.
