Upgrade from ActiveXperts SMS Messaging Server 2018, 2016R2, 2016 or 5.6

To upgrade your existing ActiveXperts SMS Messaging Server (2018, 2016R2, 2016 or 5.6) installation to a new Auron Omni installation please follow these steps:

Preperations

  1. Make a backup of you current production server and database
  2. Open the ActiveXperts SMS Messaging Server Manager
  3. Choose ‘File’ -> ‘Backup Configuration’
  4. Follow the wizard to backup your full configuration

When using SQL Server (Express)

  1. Uninstall the ActiveXperts SMS Messaging Server
  2. Install the Auron Omni
  3. During the server configuration wizard make sure to enter the same database credentials used for the previous ActiveXperts SMS Messaging Server
  4. Complete the server configuration wizard. The database will automatically be converted for use with the Auron Omni
  5. Start the Auron Omni Manager
  6. To import the triggers projects: Choose ‘File’ -> ‘Import Configuration’
  7. Follow the wizard to import your full configuration

When using LocalDB

  1. Uninstall the ActiveXperts SMS Messaging Server
  2. Install the Auron Omni
  3. Choose ‘File’ -> ‘Import Configuration’
  4. Follow the wizard to import your full configuration

You should now be up and running with the Auron Omni.
