Backup and restore configuration

Make a backup or restore your configuration from the SMS Server manager file menu.

File -> Backup Configuration Data

This is useful when transferring a configuration from your test setup to your production setup. However, it cannot replace creating a full server or database backup.

SMS Server Backup

Restore a configuration by opening the SMS Server Manager and clicking

File -> Restore Configuration Data

The restore dialog first asks you to select a back directory. After that it shows a summary of what’s in the directory and you can select what to restore.

SMS Server Restore

Checking ‘Configuration’ overwrites the entire configuration with the configuration from the backup.

Keep in mind that the service and all channels restart during the restore process.
