How to solve: [User] does not have the ‘Logon as a service’ permission?

To solve the [User] does not have the ‘Logon as a service’ permission please follow these steps:

  1. Run the command ‘secpol’ to start the Security policy manager
  2. On the left side select ‘Local Policies’ and ‘User Rights Assignment’
  3. On the right side right-click on ‘Log on as a service’
  4. Select properties from the context menu
  5. Click on ‘Add User or Group…’ and select your service user.

That should do it. You should now be able to use this user as a service account on your server.
