When I enable both send and receive my SMPP channel stops working

Most probably, your provider only supports SMPP v3.3. Transceiver mode (send and receive simultaneously) can only be used for providers that support SMPP v3.4 or higher. To send and receive simultaneously, just
create two channels: enable Send-only for the first one and Receive-only for the second one.
